TRAVELING HOME

We stopped in Monument Valley and it is beautiful!  Bill got a gorgeous turquoise ring.  We ate at the Indian Cafe and tried lots of authentic dishes.  We "camped" in the parking lot and endured 55 to 60 mph winds all night.  We unhitched the trailer to drive through the valley.  It was awesome!!  Then we headed to Goblin Valley.

We  get to Goblin Valley and the campground was full!  The ranger suggested we head to the west side of the mesa to camp and get out of the wind.  We did along with many, many other visitors.  The wind was calmer but we were dry camping and the batteries were not fully charged.  We went to bed early and when it came time to pack up we realized we had barely enough juice to retract the slide out!  We were in awe over the size of Goblin Valley!  There are 3 valleys to walk through and that would take at least three days!

We wondered how the 'tippers' had gotten away without being seen and when we saw the valley...they could have tipped a dozen goblins and not be seen! This is so amazing I would hope everyone would take time to visit.  We had the place to ourselves for a while but then a youth group arrived and really ruined our visit.  It is okay to climb on the rocks but there needs to be a limit!  Parents and chaperones need to control their kids.  One group had a drone and were flying it all over the area taking photos!!! Fun but intrusive for us.  Oh well...

We wandered for a couple of hours before heading out to come home.  So much to see, we will be back.

This is the "Temple" just outside of GV.  We thought we could go home on this road...WRONG!  The scenery was outstanding but we had to turn around (at the turnabout) and head up to Utah County and Glade's.  This was a 17 day vacation!  But we had a blast and plan to go again to Phoenix and southern Utah.  Maybe in a bigger rig.....
